About Us

Fresco Shades was established in 1998. We are proudly NZ owned, and have been providing cover for homes, schools and businesses for many years. We designed and developed this product range ourselves, and we can custom make a shade to fit most situations.   Our mission is to “Enhance customers' lives by creating magic outdoor spaces, allowing Kiwis to enjoy their outside living all year long.”   From the beginning our emphasis has been on innovation rather than replication, and our range of awnings and canopies now encompasses our unique "outdoor room" concept, as well as cantilevered shade structures, shade sails, and hip roof structures. 

Our range of cafe curtains/side screens can be used to enclose the canopy as soon as the weather changes (every 10 minutes in Auckland!).  Alongside the manual zip and roll curtains, we have wind up sides, and our new Glidetrak system, which is very easy and effortless.


Our values are based on going the extra mile, and we can often provide a custom made solution where our competitors can’t. Our team includes designers and engineers, as well as some very agile installers!  At Fresco Shades we make our own sturdy steel frames and components, and powder coat all metal in our own powder coating facility.  We also have a showroom and a deck with various canopy options so that customers can experience the product and 'try out' the various types of curtains. We take quality seriously, and use only the best architectural grade PVC fabric from France for the waterproof roofs of our canopies.  Our clear PVC for side screens/curtains comes from Japan, and is a very high grade quality for maximum longevity.
